High Input Voltage 12A PWM Converter With Adjustable Soft StartThe APW8716A is a 12A, synchronous, step-down converter
with integrated 9.7mW N-channel High-Side
MOSFET and 5.2mW Low-Side MOSFET. The APW8716A
steps down high voltage to generate low-voltage chipset
or RAM supplies in notebook computers.
The APW8716A provides excellent transient response and
accurate DC voltage output in either PFM or PWM Mode.
In Pulse Frequency Mode (PFM), theAPW8716A provides
very high efficiency over light to heavy loads with loadingmodulated
switching frequencies. In PWM Mode, the converter
works nearly at constant frequency for low-noise
requirements.
The APW8716A is equipped with accurate current-limit,
output under-voltage, and output over-voltage protections,
